To seep into their writing, how much of this sort of thinking needs to be modeled and practiced through group (small and large) discussions, collaborative writing, etc?
Too what degree do students need to be capable of monological and dialogical arguments?
How does this fit with socratic seminars/dialog?
This is nothing new and obviously "we" have only succeeded in small pockets before, what will need to be done differently for this systemic initiative to actually change anything overall?
Where in common core does it have the students coming up with the interesting/powerful questions? Is common core only about answering them?
What role could online discussions play in developing students thinking and writing skills?
